1. Atiku vs Buhari: Supreme Court Fixes Date To Hear PDP’s Appeal

The Supreme Court has fixed Wednesday to hear the appeal filed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar against the judgment of the presidential election petitions tribunal.

Naija News recalls that the Presidential Election Tribunal (PEPT) had dismissed the petition of the presidential candidate of the PDP, Atiku, against the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

2. Border Closure: Ex-Commonwealth Scribe Backs President Buhari

Chief Emeka Anyaoku, a former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth of Nations, has backed President Muhammadu Buhari on the recent closure of Nigerian borders.

The former Commonwealth scribe threw his wealth behind the decision of the present administration while speaking on Saturday at the 2019 Investiture of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) in Lagos.

3. ISIS Leader, Baghdadi, Reportedly Killed After US Raid

The United State media on Sunday reported that Islamic State (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was believed to be dead after a US military raid in Syria’s Idlib region.

The ISIS leader may have killed himself with a suicide vest as US special operations forces descended, media reported.

4. Atiku vs Buhari: Ozekhome Worried Over Delay In Naming Supreme Court Judges

Counsel to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Mike Ozekhome, has expressed worry over the delay in naming Supreme Court justices to sit on the presidential election appeal panel.

5. Trump Confirms Death Of ISIS Leader, Baghdadi

United States President, Donald Trump, on Sunday confirmed the killing of Islamic State (ISIS) leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

Speaking in a nationwide broadcast from the White House, Trump stated that Baghdadi died “like a dog,” in a daring, nighttime raid by US special forces deep in northwest Syria.

6. Biafra: Fulani Will Suffer Most If Nigeria Breaks – Ezeife

Former Governor of Anambra State and elder statesman, Emeka Ezeife, has stated that Fulani people will suffer most if Nigeria disintegrate.

Speaking to The Sun in an interview, Ezeife noted that Fulani can only stop the break-up of the country by restructuring.

7. Again, Lagos Assembly Summons Ex-Governor Ambode

Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has been asked by the State House of Assembly to appear before it on Wednesday.

In the invite was entitled: “Notice of summons: Mr Akinwunmi Ambode (the former Governor of Lagos State)”, the former governor was asked to appear before the Committee of the House by 1pm to explain all he knows about some financial transactions that took place under his administration.

8. Buhari Departs Nigeria For Saudi Arabia

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday, October 28, depart Nigeria for Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

This was disclosed in a statement by the presidency that Buhari is set to attend the third edition of the Future Investment Initiative organised by Saudi’s Public Investment Fund.

9. Catholic Church Approves Ordination Of Married Men

Catholic Bishops approved a proposal allowing some married men to be ordained as priests in the Amazon region.

Naija News understands that the proposal that passed by a vote of 128-41, applies only to some churches in the Amazon region that are experiencing a shortage of priests.
