Breaking News: Wife Of Ex-Nigerian Leader Dies

Hajiya Jummai Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, the only surviving wife of Nigeria’s first Prime Minister, late Sir Abubakar Tafawa Balewa, is dead.

Naija News understands that the death of the wife of the former Nigerian leader comes in few days after she arrived Lagos, after being discharged from an Indian hospital where she had gone to seek medical attention for her heart-related disease.

Late Hajiya Jummai, wife of the former Nigerian leader died in Lagos in the early hours of Sunday, October 27 after a protracted illness.

Granddaughter of the late Prime Minister, Hajiya Hajara Yakubu Wanka, confirmed the development in a report obtained by this news platform on Sunday. She said Jummai died of cardiac arrest.

The deceased had stopped over in Lagos to rest before returning to Bauchi.

It was learned that Hajiya Jummai passed away after she plunged into a coma which she reportedly didn’t survive.
