They’re After You, 'Popular' Yoruba Traditional Ruler Warns Naira Marley

Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, has warned Nigerian singer, Naira Marley, to thread with caution, saying “they are after you.”

Naija News reports that the Yoruba traditional ruler gave the warning when Naira Marley paid him homage as he arrived Sagamu to perform in the 2019 Sagamu Day festival.

This online news platform understands that the warning is coming at the time the singer is currently facing trial on an 11-count charge bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit credit cards and fraud brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Giving an update on Naira Marley’s trial on Wednesday, Nuru Buhari, an investigator with the EFCC, narrated how the anti-graft agency retrieved “damning evidence of credit card fraud from Naira Marley’s iPhone and laptop.”

In what appears to be a reaction to the singer’s current trial, the monarch warned that they (that is, the authorities) were after Naira Marley.

Speaking in Yoruba, the monarch, who seemed surprised with the visit saying: “You this boy, this is your face. They are after you o! They are searching for you everywhere. Be careful, tread with caution,” he said.

“Oba Ajayi told the ‘Opotoyi’ crooner that, “I am also current,” meaning he knows what is going on between Naira Marley and the EFCC.
