A truck fully loaded with 33,000 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) on Friday fell along the busy Enugu-Onitsha expressway.
Naija News reports that the tanker spilt its contents along the Ugwu Onyeama axis of the expressway.
While confirming the report, the Executive Secretary, Enugu State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mrs. Nkechi Eneh, said the Enugu State Fire Service had since been contacted and the fire fighting body led by its Chief Fire Officer, Okwudili Oha, had immediately arrived the scene and are currently dampening the truck to avert the explosion.
“Arrangements are being made to trans-load the product. Road users are advised to exercise caution while plying the road,” she said.
This comes in the midst of reports of tanker explosion reported in recent time.
