1. #RevolutionNow: Court Reduces Sowore’s Bail To 50 Million Naira

Justice Ijeoma of Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has reviewed the bail condition in the case involving Omoyele Sowore and the DSS.

Speaking earlier on Monday, during the motion filed by the convener of the #RevolutionNow protests, Omoyele Sowore, seeking a variation in his bail condition, Justice Ijeoma said Sowore’s bail can only be reduced to N50 million while Bakare’s should be reduced to N20 million​.

2. Ngige Reveals When Payment Of Minimum Wage Will Take Effect

The Federal Government has said that the full implementation and payment of the new minimum wage would take immediate effect.

Naija News understands that the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, made this known while speaking with newsmen recently in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

3. Benue: Gov. Ortom Tasks Buhari Govt On Foreign Herdsmen

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has urged the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari to seek ways to stop foreign herdsmen from entering into Nigeria illegally.

The governor made this known when he paid a visit to Mrs Wanhena Cheku, a victim of herdsmen attack now recuperating at the Federal Medical Centre at Apir in Makurdi.

4. Court Delivers Ruling On Saraki’s Ikoyi Houses

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the temporary forfeiture of two properties in Ikoyi belonging to former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Justice Mohammed Liman gave the ruling following an ex parte application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

5. Rivers: David West, Suspected Serial Killer, Appears In Court

The suspected serial killer, identified as Gracious David West, has been brought before the Rivers State High Court.

Recall that there had been an outcry in the state by some concerned individuals over the killings of women in hotels.

6. Edward Onoja Sworn In As Kogi Deputy Governor

Chief Edward Onoja, has on Monday, 21st October 2019 being sworn in as the new Kogi State Deputy Governor.

Naija News had earlier reported that the new deputy governor was screened by the lawmakers who then asked him to take a bow, paving the way for his inauguration to replace the embattled former deputy governor of the state, Mr Simon Achuba.

7. World Bank Approves $3bn Loan For Nigeria

The World Bank has approved the 3billion Dollars loan request by Nigeria for the expansion of the transmission and distribution facilities of the power sector.

Speaking after the approval of the loan during sideline event of the World Bank, The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed stated that the loan would be disbursed in four tranches of $750m each beginning from next year.

8. 2023 Presidency: How Tinubu Can Get 20m Votes From South-West – Ogunlewe

A former minister of works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe, has declared that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, could get as much as 20 million votes from the South-West alone should he decide to contest the 2023 presidential election.

Ogunlewe in his breakdown of figures said Tinubu could get up to 5 million votes from Lagos State alone if politicians from the region put in necessary efforts.

9. ASUU Plans Showdown Against FG

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is planning another showdown against the Federal Government over what the association described as the government’s planned imposition of Integrated Personnel Payroll System (IPPIS) on its members.

Naija News understands that the new plan of the university association against the federal government comes after the union leaders summoned an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meeting where it agreed that the union should begin mobilisation of members for action against the government.

10. NLC State Chairmen Fixes Date To Meet Over New Minimum Wage

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) will on Tuesday meet in Enugu State to discuss their meetings with state governments over the consequential adjustments of the new minimum wage.
