Thief Jailed For Four Years for Stealing A Car

An attorney of the Lagos State High Court Justice Adedayo Akintoye in Igbosere on Monday has sentenced a man Oluwaseun Adeniyi to four-year imprisonment for stealing a car from the owner.

According to the report gathered Adeniyi was arrested by the vigilante group members of the Saint Dominic Church Yaba Lagos on July 17, 2016, while attempting to drive away the stolen Honda accord with plate number KTU 712 BR after Mr Benedict Okoro had parked it and entered into the church.

The court prosecutor, Babatunde Sunmonu said the offence violates Section 27 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015. He said further that the criminal has been arraigned in 201 on one count of robbery.

The Justice Akintoye then agreed to the appeal of the prosecution and sentenced the criminal Adeniyi to four years imprisonment and that the sentence would start from the day he had been in the correctional facility.
