Two Dies As FRSC Patrol Vehicle Rams Into Shop In Bauchi

The corpse of a man, one Odion Omafo Samuel, 36, has been dug out of a shallow grave after it was buried allegedly by four officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) attached to Abudu outpost in Edo State.

Naija News understands that the officials include Francis Igboh, Sunday Ogi, Samson Alolade and Joseph Onolade.

According to Police sources, Odion was beaten to death after he ordered his hired driver not to give them a bribe when they were flagged down at Okhuaihe Hill along Benin-Agbor Road October 14, 2019.

Naija News learnt that Odion joined the driver to resist alleged extortion attempts by the FRSC officers and it led to fisticuffs.

The driver was said to have fled the scene and Odion who was beaten to pulp was later rushed to the hospital but couldn’t make it.

The FRSC officials were said to have buried him in a bush.

The police said his driver was then arrested for kidnap when Odion didn’t return home, but his explanation of their encounter with the FRSC officials led to a detailed investigation, and two of the four FRSC officials were arrested.

The two FRSC officers Francis Igboh and Samson Alolade took investigators to the bush where the decomposing body of Odion was evacuated.

It was learned that the suspects accused late Odion of snatching their booking tickets.

Spokesman for Edo State Police Command, DSP Chidi Nwabuzor, confirmed the incident saying it was a case of murder.
