Donald Trump’s Golf Resort Will Not Host The G7 2020

It’s a blow to Donald Trump. The American President who wanted to host the G7 summit in his golf has had to abandon the idea.

The choice of  Trump National Doral” was strongly criticized. For many, this project violated several ethical rules and encouraged the US President to use his power for personal gain. In a series of tweets, the President shared his feelings and arguments:

“I thought I was doing something very good for our country by using the Trump National Doral Miami, to welcome the G7 leaders. It is large, spread over hundreds of acres and located next to Miami International Airport, with ballrooms and extraordinary meeting rooms.”

“Each delegation would have had its own building of 50 to 70 homes. It would have been better than another alternative. I announced that I was ready to do it without profit or, if the law permits, without any cost to the United States. But, as usual, the hostile media and their Democratic allies have gone crazy!”

The President continued to defend his project, stating that he would not have made any personal gain . But given the criticism, Donald Trump had to give up. He then attacked the media and the Democrats, whom they accused of madness and ” irrational hostility “.

Now, the White House is looking for another venue for the event. The Trump National Doral Golf Complex is one of the largest financial assets of the President’s fortune.
