The Lion that escaped from its enclosure at the Kano Zoological Garden has finally quietly returned to its cage at about 6:59 am today after efforts to capture it failed.

Naija News had earlier reported that the Managing Director of the Zoo, Usman Gwadabe revealed that a team of experts had captured the lion that escaped from a zoo in Kano State. Negating the earlier reports Gwadabe said the Lion returned to its cage peacefully. He also said that the animal resisted two tranquilizers which made its sedation slow.

However, Some zoological experts from the Abuja National Park have also arrived at the zoo to compliment the efforts of the teams on the ground.

Naija News understands the escape of the Lion from the Zoological Garden happened at about 9.00 pm on Saturday night and threw inhabitants in the area into a panic. Many of them ran helter-skelter for the fear of possible attacks by the escaped lion.

The escaped lion was said to have also killed three goats and an ostrich before moving into the bush within the premises of the zoological garden on Saturday night.
