Chief Edward Onoja, has been confirmed by the Kogi State House of Assembly, on Monday as the state Deputy Governor.

Naija News had earlier reported that Simon Achuba was impeached by the house last week, a development which has been greeted with reactions from Nigerians.

According to the report, the former Chief of Staff to the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, was confirmed at exactly 8:27 am.

It was further reported that when he appeared before the house he was asked to take a bow and go.

Mathew Kolawole, the Speaker of the House, charged the new deputy governor to support the vision of the state Governor towards bringing more development in the state.

Prince Kolawole directed the Clerk to convey this development to the Judiciary by swearing in Onoja as the new deputy governor.

He is about to be sworn in a ceremony at the Lugard House, the seat of the state government by the state Chief Judge, Justice Nadir Ajana
