The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said four persons have been killed while two others have been left injured after an accident involving a lorry on Nteje/Onitsha expressway in Anambra state.

Naija News reports that the FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Andrew Kumapayi made this known in a statement made available to newsmen where he noted that the accident occurred at about 9 a.m. on Friday, October 18.

According to the FRSC commander, the accident occurred when the lorry with registration number UML 587 XP lost control and somersaulted.

Kumapayi in his statement noted that six persons were involved in the accident.

“Our rescue team arrived at the scene three minutes after we were contacted.

“The corpses have been deposited at the mortuary, while the injured persons are receiving treatment at Ndeli hospital in Awkuzu,’’ he said.

On taking safety precautions, the sector commander advised motorists to drive cautiously and ensure that their vehicles were in good condition before embarking on trips.

The accident that involved the lorry, killing four and leaving two injured comes after the Onitsha tanker explosion that also claimed another batch of lives.
