Gunmen Attack Customs Officers Near Navy Base In Abia

Kidnappers have released the Principal of Government Technical College in Maraban Kajuru in Kajuru LGA of Kaduna, Mr Francis Maji, one week after his abduction.

It was gathered that a huge sum was paid as ransom before he was released.

A source in the school told The Nation that the kidnappers dropped Maji at a location early on Thursday, after they received the ransom.

“The kidnappers dropped him at a location after they collected the ransom.

“He had to look for a commercial motorcycle, which brought him back to the school,” the source said.

However, eight people comprising six female students and two teachers who were abducted by gunmen earlier in the month are yet to be released.

Naija News reports that the kidnappers who had previously demanded a ransom of N50 million later requested for N80 million.

An official of the school who is involved in the bargain for the victims’ freedom, said the kidnappers increased their demand after listening to reports of the abduction on the radio.
