1. Strike: Labour Union, FG Meets Over Minimum Wage Deadlock

The Federal Government has met with the leadership of the organised labour in Nigeria over the implementation of the N30,000 new national minimum wage deadlock.

Naija News learnt that the meeting started at around 11am on Monday as the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, who presided over the meeting, described it as an information-sharing one which flows from the previous meeting between the government and the labour leaders.

2. Customs Boss Speaks About Opening Of Closed Border And Import-Export Ban

The Comptroller-General, Nigerian Customs Service, retired Col. Hameed Ali has revealed when the Nigerian border will be open to neighbouring countries and on the kind of goods that should enter and exit Nigeria.

According to Ali all import and export of goods from the nation’s land borders remain banned until there is an agreement with neighbouring countries on the kind of goods that should enter and exit Nigeria.

3. Buhari Vs Atiku: Panel To Hear PDP’s Appeal Not Constituted – Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has denied reports by the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) that it had handpicked judges to hear the appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against the election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Naija News reports that the CUPP Spokesperson, Ikenga Ugochinyere had accused the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Mohammed Tanko of plotting to tinker with the list of judges of the Supreme Court.

The 2019 presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Prof. Kingsley Moghalu has resigned his membership of the party.

Moghalu who disclosed his latest move via a series of tweets on his Twitter handle on Monday, has however not joined a new political party.

5. Nigeria Will Never Be A One-Party State, CUPP Attacks APC

The Coalition of United Political Parties has reacted to the claim by the All Progressives Congress that Nigeria is becoming a one-party state.

The Coalition in a statement through its spokesperson, Imo Ugochinyere, stated that it was laughable that the National Publicity Secretary of APC, Lanre Issa-Onilu, claim that opposition parties are dead in Nigerian.

6. Border Closure: Niger Republic Holds Protest, Ban Rice Export To Nigeria

Niger Republic, one of Nigeria’s border neighbour has banned the exportation of rice to Nigeria following the closure of Nigeria’s borders.

This was disclosed on Monday in Abuja by the Comptroller-General, Nigerian Customs Service, Col Hameed Ali (rtd) during a joint press briefing in Abuja.

Investigative journalist, Fisayo Soyombo, went undercover to track corruption in Nigeria’s criminal justice system and spent two weeks in detention — five days in a Police cell and eight as an inmate in Ikoyi Prison.

To experience the workings of the system in its raw state, Soyombo — adopting the pseudonym Ojo Olajumoke — feigned an offence for which he was arrested and detained in police custody, arraigned in court and eventually remanded in Prison.

10. EFCC Bursts Popular Night Club, Arrests 94 Yahoo Boys

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Nigeria’s anti-graft agency on Monday apprehended 94 suspects over their alleged involvement in cybercrime and its affiliates.
