Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, has denied reports that the Kano Emirate Council sacked Maja Siddin Sarkin Kano, Alhaji Auwalu, the custodian of the Emir’s horse.

Naija News understands that reports emerged on Sunday of the Emir sacking Alhaji Auwalu and asking him to vacate his residence of over 30 years.

Although it is unclear the reason for his reported sack, a report monitored on an online platform alleged that Alhaji Auwalu was sacked for participating in the grand reception in honour of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, the Kano state Governor last Wednesday.

The report revealed that trouble started for Alhaji Auwalu when he raised the portrait of the late Emir of Kano, His Highness, Sarkin Ado Abdullahi Bayero in celebration with Ganduje as the Governor’s long convoy passed through the Emir’s Palace from Kano airport towards Government House last Wednesday.

The online source quoted a Palace source, who craved anonymity, to have said Emir Sanusi who was not in Kano during Ganduje’s reception was highly angered over the action of Auwalu.

But another palace source revealed to the Punch that the emirate only retrieved the keys of the emirate’s stable from the chief.
