Building Collapses In Magodo, Kills Four

At least four persons have been killed after a building collapsed in the Otun Araromi area of Isheri – Magodo, Lagos.

Naija News reports that a mother and her three children died almost immediately the building came down in the early hours of Saturday, October 12.

While confirming the incident, the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osayintolu said the incident occurred on Saturday morning.

Oke-Osayintolu added that the bodies of trapped persons have been recovered, adding that efforts were ongoing in the search for more victims who might have been trapped.

The LASEMA general manager noted that efforts by relevant agencies were ongoing to ascertain the exact cause of the collapse.

However, residents who witnessed the scene are of the opinion that the building might have collapsed due to the continuous downpour experienced in recent times.
