Bandits in Katsina state have released Alhaji Gambo Sama’ila Yarliyau, a local government councillor, his wife and one-year-old daughter who were abducted by the bandits about nine days ago.

Naija News understands that the family of the local government councillor was released along side two others.

The kidnapped victims gained freedom from the hands of their repentant abductors on Friday, October 11.

While confirming the release, the Director of Media to Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Malam Labara Malumfashi said in a statement that reads as thus; “the councillor who represents Barkiya Ward of Kurfi Local Government Area and the two members of his family, were presented to the Governor Friday evening by the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Jabiru AbdulLahi Tsauri.”

Reports obtained by Naija News revealed that the two people released with the councillor (names withheld) looked traumatized and were taken to Kurfi hospital for medical attention.

Governor Masari expressed confidence that there would be no more kidnap victims in captivity from Katsina in a matter of time, adding that all those known to be gang-kidnapped have regained their freedom.
