National Assembly Sets Date To Conclude Work On Budget 2020

The committees of both chambers of the National Assembly will conclude work on the 2020 budget estimate before the end of October, the President of the Nigerian Senate, Ahmed Lawan has said.

Naija News reports that Lawan made this comment on Tuesday during the presentation of the budget 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari at the National Assembly complex in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The Senate President directed all Ministers and Heads of MDAs to appear before National Assembly committees to defend their budget promptly before the end of the month.

Senator Lawan noted that lawmakers of both chambers of the National Assembly will bring to bear the same commitment with which it passed the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, which is a prelude to the budget.
