Gunmen Kidnap Catholic Priest, Others In Fresh Attack In Enugu

Gunmen have reportedly shot dead three women in Vatt community, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The women were shot dead while harvesting tomatoes in their farms on Monday evening.

Speaking to The Punch on Tuesday, the youth leader in the community, Dalyop Solomon, gave the names of the deceased women as Tabitha Joro Dung, Ngo Yop Gwom Pam and Zong.

“Our people are mourning because suspected armed Fulani militias invaded a tomatoes farm where local women were harvesting the crops at Vatt Community of Foron District, Barkin Ladi LGA of Plateau State.

“As a result, three women namely, Tabitha Joro Dung, Ngo Yop Gwom Pam, and Zong Peter were shot dead by the marauders

“As I talk with you, their corpses have been deposited in a mortuary. It is really very sad,” he said.

Meanwhile, Naija News had earlier reported that two officers of the Nigerian Police attached to the Rivers state command have been abducted by gunmen at Ngor, Headquarters of Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

The Nigerian police officers were abducted on Monday, October 7, and whisked to an unknown location.

The Rivers State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Nnamdi Omoni,confirmed the abduction of the policemen.
