1. Buhari Was Elected To Correct PDP’s Failures Not Complain – Galadima

Elder statesman, Buba Galadima, has said President Muhammadu Buhari was elected to correct the problems allegedly left behind by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governments.

In an interview with New Telegraph, the former ally of the president, however, disagreed with those blaming previous PDP governments for the woes of the country.

2. Why PDP Should Not Appeal Tribunal Judgement- APC Chieftain

Chieftains of All Progressives Congress (APC), the Kaduna State ruling party have urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to initiate the process of appealing the tribunal judgement which upheld Governor Nasir El-rufai’s reelection.

Naija News reports that the chieftains in the state advised the leading opposition party to rather go and prepare for the 2023 general elections rather than ‘wasting time and resources to appeal the tribunal judgement.

3. Kwara Assembly Gives Reasons For Seizing Saraki’s Properties

The Kwara State House of Assembly has disclosed the reasons it directed the seizure of the Alimi Chalet and a landed property popularly called Ile Arugbo which was allegedly acquired by the former Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The house in a statement obtained by Naija News on Sunday disclosed that it directed the seizure of the property because they belonged to the state government and there was no evidence that Saraki paid for them.

4. Group Makes Strong Accusation Against CBN Governor, Reports To Buhari

A group in South-Eastern Nigeria, Zikist-Buharist Movement (ZBM) has accused the governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele of marginalising South East and South West in intervention programmes of the apex bank.

The group made the accusation against Emefiele in a statement by the chairman, Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka and Secretary, Godwin Onwusi, ZBM in Enugu on Sunday, October 6.

5. IPOB Won’t Get You 2023 Presidency, ACF Warns Igbos

The Secretary-General of the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Anthony Sani, has warned Igbos against using the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to threaten the North over the 2023 presidency.

Naija News reports that elder statesman Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife had in an interview with a national newspaper stated that Igbos might back IPOB if they are denied the presidency in 2023.

6. 2023: Why It Isn’t Possible Igbos Become Next President – Wabara

Former Senate President, Adolphus Wabara has claimed that there are no chances of an Igbo Presidency emerging in 2023.

He noted that the Nndigbos had been systematically restricted to certain political limits in Nigeria and have therefore been limited, aborting every desire of the tribe to aspire and reach for the Presidency in the next four years.

7. Why Buhari Refused To Retaliate Xenophobic Attacks – Presidency

The Presidency has said President Muhammadu Buhari refused to retaliate xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa because he felt engagement was a better option.

Buhari’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, made this known in a statement on Saturday.

8. Buhari’s Confidant Arrest: PDP ‘Explodes’ Over Presidency Silence

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has asked the Presidency to respond to reports of the arrest of President Muhammadu Buhari‘s confidant, Nasir Danu.

Naija News reports that Nasir Danu was allegedly arrested at Heathrow Airport, United Kingdom, for alleged passport scam and money laundering.

9. Minimum Wage: Labour Fixes Date Strike Will Commence

The President of Trade Union Congress (TUC), Quadri Olaleye, has stated that labour may embark on strike if the federal government fails to meet workers’ demand on the implementation of the new minimum wage by the close of work on Wednesday, October 16, 2019.

Naija News recalls that leaders of labour unions on Tuesday had said they may embark on an industrial action if the Federal Government failed to accept its demand on the consequential salary adjustment arising from the new minimum wage.
