1. Jonathan Speaks On What He Regrets About Handing Over To Buhari

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has made fresh revelations about circumstances surrounding his acceptance of defeat in the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria.

According to Jonathan, he never regretted his decision to concede defeat to President Muhammadu Buhari in the presidential election of 2015.

2. Nigerian Government Signs 32 Bilateral Agreements With South Africa

South Africa and the Nigerian government have signed 32 bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding, covering trade and industry, science and technology, defence, agriculture, and energy.

Speaking on the agreed deal, President Buhari said Nigeria will continue to value its relationship with South Africa, which is the second-largest economy in Africa

3. 21 Boko Haram Drug Suppliers Arrested

Not fewer than 21 suspected Boko Haram drug suppliers have been arrested by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

Naija News understands that the suspected suppliers were arrested after the NDLEA operatives busted the covert channel in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital, through which they make supplies to the terrorists.

4. Presidential Election: Supreme Court Delivers Judgement In HDP’s Case Against Buhari

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has delivered judgement in an appeal filed against President Muhammadu Buhari‘s victory at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP).

Naija News reports that the HDP and its presidential candidate, Ambrose Owuru, had appealed the decision of the presidential election petitions tribunal which dismissed their petition challenging the victory of Buhari at the 2019 presidential election.

5. President Buhari Set To Present 2020 Budget On Tuesday

The Senate Leadership has revealed when the Parliament will receive the 2020 national budget from President Muhammadu Buhari.

It revealed the 2020 budget and presentation from the President will be done on Tuesday, 8th October.

6. National Assembly Passes MTEF/FSP

The Nigerian Senate has passed the 2020-2022 Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper (MTEF/FSP).

Naija News reports that the Nigerian Senate passed the MTEF/FSP on Thursday, October 3, a week after it was submitted to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The House Of Reps has also passed the bill.

Senator Rochas Okorocha has advised that there should be a reduction in the number of Parliamentarians representing each state of the federation.

Okorocha, representing Imo West senatorial district said this while contributing to a Committee report on MTEF at the Senate Plenary today while stating his reason as being the inability of the nation to afford their expenditure any longer.

8. Ramaphosa Begs Nigerians And Other Foreign Nationals For Forgiveness Again

South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa has once again begged Nigerians and other foreign nationals for the acts of violence vented on them during the xenophobic attacks.

As the government of South Africa, we have expressed our deep regret at the attacks directed at foreign nationals and our condemnation of all forms of intolerance and acts of violence,” Ramaphosa said.

9. Insecurity: IGP Issues Fresh Directives To Police Commands

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has commended the men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force for their efforts in maintaining security.

The Police chief also identified the need to re-evaluate the internal security structure of Nigeria in order to achieve better results.

10. Labour Gives Buhari Govt Deadline Over Minimum Wage

Organized Labour has given the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari two weeks to commence the implementation of the new national minimum wage or risks a nationwide industrial action.
