Sowore Sues Ned Nwoko, Police For N200m Over Illegal Arrest

Activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore, has on Friday, been granted bail by a court of competent jurisdiction.

Also granted bail was Olawale Bakare.

Naija News understands that Mr Sowore is being held on seven counts charge of treasonable felony, cybercrimes and money laundering.

Speaking on the bail condition and verdict, the trial judge, Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, granted bail to the two defendants in a total sum of N150 million and a restriction from speaking with newsmen. He was also banned from travelling out.

Naija News recalls that a court had earlier granted him bail but the Department of State Services (DSS) refused to release him while he was re-arraigned on September 30, alongside Olawale Bakare, his co-defendant, on a 7-count charge of felony brought against him by the federal government.
