Police Arrest ‘Wanted’ Handset Snatcher

Operatives attached to the Rivers state Police command have apprehended a 26-years-old man identified as Baredose Taabaa over his alleged involvement in snatching handsets.

Naija News understands that Taabaa was arrested by the intelligent men of the Anti-Crime patrol team under the command. He was arrested in the Khana local government area of Rivers State

The Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP Nnamdi Omoni made this known in a statement obtained by Naija News on Thursday, October 3.

Omoni in his statement said the operatives arrested Taabaa shortly after he snatched a Samsung Handset from its owner at the Agip Flyover.

“His criminal gang specialises in snatching handsets from unsuspecting persons along the Ikwerre Road area of Port Harcourt,” Omini said.

“The handset was immediately recovered and the owner identified it to be his.

All suspects arrested are helping us in our Investigation and will be charged to court as soon as our investigation is completed,” he stated in his statement.

Similarly, the Police in the state has also arrested two men, disguised in Nigerian Army uniforms over their alleged involvement in a robbery attack in the state.
