The minister of Aviation under the Goodluck Jonathan administration, Femi Fani-Kayode, has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari over his plan to visit South Africa over the xenophobic attack on Nigerians.

The former Minister in his reaction described Buhari’s planned trip as an “insult” to Nigerians.

Recall that Naija News had reported that Buhari will depart Abuja on Wednesday on a three-day visit to South Africa.

The spokesperson to President Buhari, Garba Shehu, noted that the president is responding to President Cyril Ramaphosa’s invitation.

He further stated that the meeting is set to address the welfare of Nigerians and find a lasting solution to attacks on Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode insisted that Buhari should have rejected the invitation extended to him by Ramaphosa, following the killing of Nigerians.

Fani-Kayode on his Twitter account wrote, “A President does not reward a foreign power that has just slaughtered his citizens with impunity with a state visit.”

“@MBuhari’s visit to South Africa is inappropriate and an insult to the Nigerian people. This is yet another 1st in the ignoble hall of infamy and shame for Nigeria.”
