1. DSS Granting Phone Access To Boko Haram Commanders In Custody – Sowore

Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow Movement, has disclosed that he wasn’t allowed access to the telephone in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Sahara Reporters publisher, however, accused the DSS operatives of allowing arrested Boko Haram commanders in their custody to make calls.

2. Tribunal Sets Date To Deliver Final Judgment On Kano Governorship Election

The Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal has fixed Wednesday, October 2 to deliver the final judgment on Kano governorship election.

Naija News reports that this is coming after Abba Yusuf, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), filed a petition challenging the declaration of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje as the winner of the March 9 governorship election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

3. Bayelsa State Speaker, Tonye Isenah Impeached, New Speaker Announced

The embattled Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Tonye Emmanuel Isenah, has been controversially impeached and replaced with the lawmaker representing Southern Ijaw Constituency 2, Monday Obolo.

It will be recalled that the Bayelsa State House of Assembly was on Monday invaded by some suspected hoodlums who fired warning shots into the air, throwing the whole chamber into a state of confusion before fleeing the legislative chamber with the mace.

5. Court Orders Sowore To Be Remanded In DSS Custody

Justice Ijeoma Ojuwku of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday, ordered that Omoyele Sowore be remanded in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS), pending the hearing of his bail application on 3rd October 2019.

Naija News recalls that Sowore pleaded not guilty to a seven-count charge of fraud, treason, money laundering and cyberstalking President Muhammadu Buhari.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday disclosed that Nigeria is set to enter into the Promised land.

The final list of 24 candidates and political parties that will contest the Nov. 16 governorship election in Kogi State has been released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The commission pasted the list on the notice board of it’s Lokoja office on Monday.

A report obtained by Naija News on Monday has indicated that some state governments have issued condition(s) for payment of new minimum wage to workers.

It is understood that the states are asking for the upward review of the statutory allocation been received from the federal government as a condition for the payment of the minimum wage.

The Presidency has stated that it cannot weigh in on the prosecution of the convener of the #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore, by the Department of State Services (DSS).

The Presidency made this known through the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the President, Femi Adesina during a live political programme on Channels television.
