1. Vice President Osinbajo Waives Immunity To Clear Name On Fraud

The Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, says he is ready to waive his constitutional immunity to “enable the most robust adjudication” of several baseless allegations, insinuation, and falsehoods against his person and office.

2. FG Declares Public Holiday To Mark Nigeria’s Independence Anniversary

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Tuesday, October 1, as public holiday to mark the country’s 59th Independence Anniversary.

This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Mrs Georgina Ehuriah, on behalf of the Minister.

3. EFCC Speaks On Probing Vice President Osinbajo, N-SIP

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo and the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) are not under any probe, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has said.

4. Presidential Tribunal: APC Asks Supreme Court To Nullify Atiku, PDP’s Appeal

The ruling party in Nigeria, the All Progressives Congress has asked the apex court to nullify the appeal of the judgment on the presidential election presented before it by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News recalls that the main opposition party candidate in the last presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, and his party have asked the Supreme Court to reverse the decision of the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) which upheld President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory.

Nigeria’s Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has revealed when the upper chamber will conclude work on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).

Naija News learnt Lawan gave the revelation during in his speech while inaugurating the 70 Standing Committees of the Senate at plenary in Abuja on Wednesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the recent attempt to overthrow the constitutionally elected government in Ghana.

In his reaction, President Buhari said democracy remains the best form of government and all attempts to topple it must be resisted.

Information made available to Naija News on Wednesday has it that Boko Haram terrorists have killed one of the abducted aid workers in Borno State.

It was gathered that the insurgents also threatened to execute other aid workers in its custody citing deception from the government as their reason.
