Just In: Mad Melon Of ‘Danfo Driver’ Dies

Popular Nigerian Artiste and crooner of the popular street anthem, ‘Danfo Driver,’ Mad Melon on Wednesday died in a Lagos-based hospital.

Naija News understands that the popular Nigerian artiste died after battling with a brief illness that is yet to be made public.

Ace Nigerian singer, Daddy Showkey confirmed the news of Mad Melon’s death on his Instagram handle on Thursday, September 26, 2019.

“What kind of sad news is this, what kind of sad news is this, what kind of sad news is this,” Showkey repeatedly said in his video, mourning the death of Mad Melon.

“Oh my God, we just lost somebody, I just heard it just now. I’m not happy at all, I’m not happy. When dem go dey tell people make dem dey hear, make dem dey hear,” he added.

Mad Melon and Mountain Black came into limelight after their album in 2003, titled ‘Danfo Driver’ took to the streets and was sang as anthems both in Nigeria and beyond.

Their fame sprang up again in 2018 when they both came after Tekno over the sampling of their popular song, ‘Kpolongo’
