1. Atiku Vs Buhari: CUPP Reveals Fresh Supreme Court Plot

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has accused the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Mohammed Tanko to plotting to tinker with the list of judges of the Supreme Court to sit on the appeal of Atiku Abubakar. Naija News recalls that the Presidential Election Tribunal (PEPT) had dismissed the petition of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku, against the election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

2. Gunmen Abduct ASUP Chairman, Four Others In Oyo

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igbo-Ora, Opadijo Olujide. Naija News understands that the Secretary of the Union, Gbenga Alayande and three others were also kidnapped on their way to Saki on Thursday.

Constitutional lawyer Femi Falana has condemned move by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari implement the increase in Value Added Tax (VAT). Naija News recalls that the Federal Executive Council had last Wednesday approved the increment of VAT from 5 per cent to 7.5 per cent.

The Central bank of Nigeria has voted that monetary policy rate, which measures interest rate to retain its status quo at 13.5 %. The Governor of the Central Bank, Godwin Emefiele, made the announcement on Friday during the MPC meeting in Abuja.

Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) has insisted that Senior Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo did not rape Busola Dakolo and was never in a relationship with her. Naija News recalls that Busola, wife of singer Timi Dakolo, had accused the COZA pastor of raping her 20 years ago in her family house.

6. Ex-Minister Reveals Cabal’s Candidate ‘To Replace Osinbajo’

Femi Fani-Kayode, the ex Aviation Minister has affirmed the “cabal” of picking Tunde Bakare to replace Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. Tunde Bakare was once President Muhammadu Buhari’s running mate in the 2011 election and also the Senior Pastor of the Latter Rain Assembly in Lagos State, Nigeria.

8. One Killed, Five Injured In Shooting Near White House

One person was on Thursday killed while five others have sustained injuries after a shooting on the streets of Washington, DC, not far from the White House. Naija News understands that the incident occurred 10:00 pm, Thursday at about 3 kilometres from the White House, outdoors in a courtyard of an apartment building, police said.

The Charges filed against the convener of the #RevolutionNow protest, Omoyele Sowore has set several celebrities against the federal government of Nigeria. Naija News understands that Sowore, who was also the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), is charged alongside Olawale Bakare, also known as Mandate, in a seven-count charge filed by the office of the Attorney General of the Federation.
