Gunmen Attack Customs Officers Near Navy Base In Abia

Unknown gunmen have attacked two villages in Numan Local Government Area of Adamawa State, northern Nigeria, leaving at least two people killed and many others, including a soldier, injured.

A report monitored on The Nation by Naija News, quoted local sources, who attributed the attacks to herdsmen, to have said that the attackers laid siege on Shaforon and Kodumti villages around 1:00am on Sunday, visiting mayhem on households.

Naija News learned that Dr. Nuhu Tari, the Principal Medical Officer of Numan General Hospital, confirmed two deaths among the victims taken there.

Confirming the attacks, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, the Adamawa state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), identified the attackers as cattle rustlers.

His words: “One of the attackers was killed in the crossfire with security operatives and his corpse has been deposited at the Numan mortuary.

“The CP has dispatched additional operatives to join other security agencies to comb the bushes in the area and arrest the fleeing cattle rustlers,” DSP Nguroje said.
