1. Buhari In Burkina Faso For ECOWAS Summit

President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday arrived Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, to attend the ECOWAS Extraordinary Summit on Counter-Terrorism. This was made known in a statement to newsmen by the Media office of the State House, Abuja.

2. FG Begins Investigation Of Lawan, Gbajabiamila, CJN Tanko Muh’d, Others

The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) has commenced an investigation into bank accounts belonging to Senate President Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Reps Femi Gbajabiamila and other principal officers of the National Assembly. Naija News reports that the Financial Intelligence agency is also investigating accounts owned by Nigeria judges, including the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Tanko Muhammad.

3. Tribunal Delivers Final Judgment On Dapo Abiodun’s Election

The election of Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has been affirmed by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal led by Justice Yusuf Halilu. Naija News reports that Justice Halilu in the ruling declared that the petitioner, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) “did not only failed but also irredeemably failed to prove” his case against Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress(APC).

4. How Former CJN Belgore Helped P&ID Win $9.6bn Judgment Against Nigeria

A report has emerged suggesting that a former Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Alfa Belgore, provided one of the key legal arguments used by the Process and Industrial Developments (P&ID) Limited, an Irish engineering company, in securing the award of $9.6 billion (N3.2 trillion) against Nigeria. According to the report which was sighted on PREMIUM TIMES by Naija News, a tribunal sitting in the United Kingdom (UK), accepted Belgore’s opinion in ruling that the British Virgin Island firm is entitled to $6.6billion in damages, plus interest, the report said.

5. Buhari’s Former Minister ‘Mama Taraba’ Decamps To PDP

Jummai Alhassan, popularly known as Mama Taraba, a former Minister of Women Affairs in President Muhammadu Buhari’s first tenure, has decamped to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), from United Democratic Party (UDP). Naija News reports that Buhari’s former minister made the decision during a stakeholders meeting of UDP in Jalingo, the capital city of Taraba State, northern Nigeria.

6. Ogun: APC Reacts As Tribunal Rules On Abiodun’s Election

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended the State Governorship Election Tribunal for affirming the election of Governor Dapo Abiodun. Naija News reports that the election of Abiodun was affirmed by the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal led by Justice Yusuf Halilu.

7. Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu Explodes Over ‘Assassins’ At His Abia Residence

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has raised the alarm over alleged assassins at his residence in Afara-Ukwu, Abia State, South-East Nigeria. Naija News reports that the IPOB leader made the allegation on the micro-blogging site, Twitter on Saturday evening, September 14.

8. Bandits Kill Six In Fresh Kaduna Attack

Six persons have been reportedly killed by armed bandits at Fadaman Rimi Community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Naija News understands that two persons, including a physically-challenged person, were kidnapped by gunmen on Thursday in Kgosi Gadani Village in the same Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
