Breaking: Tribunal Delivers Final Judgment On Dapo Abiodun's Election

The Ogun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal ruling on the preliminary objections has dismissed a petition by Hon. Adekunle Aknlade seeking the disqualification of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Naija News reports that Akinlade wants the Justice Yusuf Halilu-led tribunal to dismiss Abiodun on grounds of submitting false academic qualification.

Delivering judgement, Justice Halilu stated that the issue of information about academic qualification in Abiodun sworn affidavit had been laid to rest by the Appeal court.

He noted that the petitioner can’t be allowed to resurrect or open the same matter at the Tribunal since the Appellate court had deemed it “statute-barred.”

The Election Tribunal noted it would stand by the decision of the Appellate court, adding that the Petitioner also filed the application challenging Abiodun’s qualification outside the window of time allowed.
