President Muhammadu Buhari Thursday in Abuja assured Nigerians that the Federal Government will not inflict additional hardship on citizens, rather it will keep seeking ways to ameliorate their sufferings and create a more enabling environment for everyone to thrive.

“On fuel prices, I agree with you on the need to eliminate corruption and inefficiencies in the sector. I want to assure you that, as an Administration, we have no intention of inflicting any additional hardship on Nigerians,’’ President Buhari told the new executive of Trade Union Congress led by its President, Comrade Quadri Olaleye, at the State House.

2. Obaseki Vs Oshiomhole: Court Rules On Edo Assembly Crisis

The Federal High Court, Port Harcourt, has ruled that the National Assembly lacks the constitutional power to direct Governor Godwin Obaseki to issue a fresh proclamation to the Edo State House of Assembly.

Naija News reports Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Yekini Idiaye and a member of the House, Hon. Henry Okhuarobo, had approached the Federal High Court to challenge the moves by National Assembly to take over the functions of the House of Assembly.

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has reassured members of his group and Biafra hopefuls that the Republic of Biafra will come.

Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, disclosed this on Thursday at the third Maritime Stakeholders Interactive Forum.

5. Tribunal: Don’t Go To Supreme Court – Lai Mohammed Tells Atiku What To Do

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has asked Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to apologize to Nigerians.

He accused them of willfully distracting the Buhari Administration with a frivolous election petition.

Mohammed Adoke, a former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, has accused the President Muhammadu Buhari administration of sympathizing with the Sani Abacha’s family.

The federal government has finally given approval for an increase in value-added tax (VAT) rate from 5.0% to 7.2% percent.
