1. Presidential Tribunal Gives Final Ruling On PDP, Atiku’s Petition

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) on Wednesday dismissed the petition of the Peoples Democratic Party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Naija News reports that the PDP and Atiku are challenging the declaration of President Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the February 23, 2019, presidential election.

2. Minimum Wage: President Buhari Issues Fresh Directive To Ngige

Muhammadu Buhari, President of Nigeria has expressed worries about the lingering case of negotiations on the new minimum wage for workers in the country.

Naija News recalls the N30,000 new minimum wage was signed into law by the President in April 2019. About six months down the line, the new wage is yet to be implemented.

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal on Wednesday, struck out the witness statement by former Aviation Minister, Osita Chidoka.

This follows a ruling by the Tribunal on the request by President Muhammadu Buhari through his counsels for the striking out of the witness statement.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday presided over the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting after the inauguration of ‘next level’ ministers.

6. Presidential Election Tribunal: Court Declares Atiku A Nigerian

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has struck out the petition of the All Progressive Congress party against Atiku Abubakar over is alleged non-Nigerian citizenship.

Speaking on the verdict in its 6th ruling earlier on Monday, the court said its power does not include determining the qualification of a petitioner in an election dispute.

7. South African Immigrations Frustrates Evacuation Of Nigerians

Report reaching Naija News reveals that the South African immigrations have commenced efforts to frustrate the efforts of the Nigerian High Commission in South Africa towards evacuating Nigerians from the country.

Naija News reports that the move frustrating the evacuation of Nigerians comes after an airplane belonging to Air Peace had arrived the OR Tambo Airport in Johannesburg, the South African capital since 4 a.m to evacuate the surviving Nigerians who escaped been lynched in the recent Xenophobic attacks against foreigners in South Africa.

8. Election Tribunal Rules On INEC Transmitting Result Electronically To Server

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) has said that there is no evidence that INEC electronically transmitted the results of the last presidential election to any server.

In the judgement read on Wednesday, the court stated that the petitioners – Atiku Abubakar and the PDP – failed to convince the court that INEC had a server and that it transmitted results electronically.

9. Okorocha Blasts Oshiomhole, Speaks On Dumping APC

Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha has spoken out on the perceived ill-treatment been meted to him by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Okorocha, who is the immediate past governor of Imo State, said the party was not been fair to him despite the personal sacrifices and financial contributions he has made to the party.

10. WAEC Result: Buhari Qualified To Contest Presidential Election – Tribunal

The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal has ruled that President Muhammadu Buhari possesses the required educational qualification to contest the presidential seat in Nigeria.

The Tribunal made the submission during its ruling on Wednesday in Abuja when it ruled in the petition by Atiku Abubakar and the PDP on the educational qualification of President Buhari to contest the 2019 presidential election.
