Atiku Under Attack Over Comment On National Grid Collapse

The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nigeria’s main opposition party in the 2019 Presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, has urged the tribunal to sack President Muhammadu Buhari when it finally delivers its judgment on their petition.

Naija News reports that Atiku and his party urged the tribunal to determine the petition on its merit rather than technicalities and ensure substantial justice.

This online news platform understands that Atiku and PDP maintained that President Buhari was not qualified to have contested the election and as such should be disqualified.

Naija News reports that the Presidential election held February 23 and was conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

A report monitored on The Sun Newspaper by Naija News, quoted one of the senior lawyers in Atiku’s legal team, Mike Ozekhome (SAN), to have said that it was the expectation of his client “that the judiciary, as the last hope of the common man, will be dauntless in addressing the substance of the petition by the peoples’ candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in the collective quest to retrieve a stolen mandate through the legal process.”
