Police Arrest 42 Shiite Protesters In Abuja

Following the protest by members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria popularly known as Shi’ites, tension has been raised in Bauchi State as many scampered to safety when the Nigeria Police Force clashed with IMN members.

According to a report, the incident occurred about 10 am on Tuesday at the Central Market Roundabout and Tashan Babiye area of Bauchi, the state capital.

A further report revealed that the Police reportedly fired teargas and gunshots to disperse the protesters causing people to scamper to safety.

Most shops in the popular Central Market were shut as traders immediately closed their shops and ran for their lives.

Although there had been no death reported, eyewitnesses say that several people were injured.

Naija News had earlier reported that three Shiites members in Kaduna State have been reportedly killed during a protest in the state.
