1. World Bank Predicts Nigeria’s Economic Future

The World Bank has foretold that Nigeria is running down economically as a result of the abandonment of agriculture and total reliance on crude oil. Dr. Adetunji Oredipe, World Bank’s Senior Agriculture Economist while giving a keynote speech at the Agriculture Summit Africa in Abuja on Thursday stated that Nigeria should take precaution to avert the doom ahead.

2. FG Approves Construction Of New International Airport, See Where

Following the request for the construction of a new International Airport in Ebonyi State by the state government, President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government has yesterday approved the request. This was disclosed in a letter by Minister for Aviation, Hadi Sirika to Governor David Umahi.

3. Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe Former President Is Dead

Chairman of the committee, Senator Ajibola Basiru, in a statement on Friday, said: “it has become very urgent to take decisive action in putting an end to brazen and fatal attacks on Nigerians in all parts of the world.”

Following the recent xenophobic attack on Nigerians in South Africa, the House of Representatives has announced that it will invite the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and the Chairman of the Nigerian Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri. The development was revealed by the Speaker of the House, Femi Gbajabiamila at a press conference in Abuja on Friday.

6. Xenophobia: Jonathan Breaks Silence On Attacks On Nigerians, Others

Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, a former President of Nigeria, has called for an end to the various forms of killings across several countries in Africa. The former President’s call is coming at a time of heightened tension between South Africa, Nigeria, and other African countries over xenophobic attacks.
