1. 3 Nigerian Army Soldiers Killed 8 Injured In Fresh Boko Haram Attack

Three Soldiers of the Nigerian Army have been killed while 8 others have been injured after a shootout with the Boko Haram insurgents along the Monguno-Mairari-Gajiram axis.

Naija News understands that the shootout involved the Boko Haram insurgents and troops of the Sector 3, Operation Lafiy a Dole attached to Super Camp Monguno on Friday August 30.

2. Ruga Takes Off In Zamfara Tuesday

The Ruga scheme is set to take off in Zamfara State on Tuesday after the state governor, Bello Matawalle on Saturday gave the nod for the immediate commencement of construction work on Ruga settlements in the state.

Naija News understands that the state Governor issued the directive on Saturday after receiving the new Ruga master plan from the project consultant, Mr. Emmanuel Ozigi.

3. Finally, CAN States Stance On RUGA

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on the Federal Government led by President Muhammadu Buhari to drop the planned RUGA scheme.

Naija News reports that Pastor Samson Ayokunle, the President of CAN, announced the position of the association at a church leaders’ summit in Lagos on Saturday, August 31.

4. Buhari Shocks IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu In Japan, Returns To Nigeria

Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s president on Saturday arrived the presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

5. Buratai Visits Nigerian Army Troops After Attack

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai has embarked on a morale-boosting visit to the troops of the Nigerian Army in the front line of the Operation Lafiya Dole in Borno.

Naija News reports that the visit of the Chief of Army Staff follows an ambush by the Boko Haram terrorists at Gasarwa village, along Gajiram-Monguno road in Nganzai Local Government Area of Borno on Saturday.

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, says he supports the opposition of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to RUGA settlement.

7. Police Boss Orders Arrest Of All Shi’ite Leaders In Nigeria

The Nigerian Police force has ordered the arrest of all the leaders of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) in all the 36 states of the country.

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has reminded his Kano state counterpart of his bribery scandal after a threat by Dr. Ganduje over the alleged demolition of Rainbow Town Central Mosque in Trans-Amadi area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

Naija News recalls that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, had threatened to take Wike to court over the reported demolition.
