Transfer: Ozil Set To Leave Arsenal

According to Soccernet, Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil, could leave the Emirate before the transfer window ends on September 2.

The development came after the Gunners manager, Unai Emery left the former Germany international out of the squad that suffered a 3-1 loss to Liverpool last Saturday.

Ozil was fit and available for selection but was left out by Emery. He has struggled for starts since Emery replaced Wenger as Arsenal manager.

The former Real Madrid player also missed Arsenal’s first match against Newcastle following an attack on him and kolasinac during a car hijacking incident.

Although he returned to training after Arsenal’s win over Newcastle, he was not available for Burnley’s game due to illness.

When asked why Ozil was not in his squad, Emery hinted the former Real Madrid star was not ready, “The players here are the ones we think are the best physically to play today”.

The German could experience difficulty in moving away from Arsenal due to the high wages he commands at the club.
