Ishaku Denies Link With Wadume

The Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku has denied any link with the notorious kidnap kingpin, Hamisu Bala, better known as Wadume.

The governor also denied giving Wadume six million naira in the build-up to the 2019 governorship election in the state.

Recall as previously reported by Naija News, Wadume had in his confessions, indicted some politicians and political parties, accusing them of giving him money.

However, Governor Ishaku in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan-Abu, says he was never involved in Wadume’s duplicity or gave money to him.

He further called on the general public to disregard Wadume’s confessions on the alleged defrauding, and only see them as the rantings of a drowning criminal.

Ishaku also used the opportunity to commend security agencies for promptly re-arresting Wadume who is at the center of a recent clash between the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police after an operation gone-wrong resulted in the death of three police officers and one other civilian in Ibi, Taraba state earlier this month.

He also called on security operatives to smoke out the accomplices of Wadume and other criminal gangs in Taraba state and bring them to book.
