President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday assigned portfolios to the newly sworn-in Ministers at the Presidential Villa Abuja. Naija News recalls that Buhari had inaugurated 43 persons as ministers to assist him in various capacities during his second term in office after a two-day retreat.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has urged the presidential election petition tribunal to dismiss the suit filed before it by Atiku Abubakar and his team. The electoral body further submitted that the suit by Atiku and the Peoples Democratic Party challenging the victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and the All Progressives Congress at the February 23 presidential election in Nigeria is a sheer waste of the court’s time.

President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja to dismiss the Petition filed by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party. President Buhari stated that there is no law in Nigeria that requires him to tender his certificate to prove his eligibility to run for the presidency.
The governor of Lagos State, Nigeria’s commercial city, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has officially appointed Gboyega Akosile as his Chief Press Secretary. Naija News reports that the new Chief Press Secretary was earlier appointed Deputy Chief Press Secretary in May after Sanwo-Olu’s inauguration.
