BREAKING: Nnamdi Kanu To Appear In Court On Monday

Convener of Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, has revealed that northerners are sponsoring the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu.

Naija News had reported earlier that Ekweremadu was attacked by the IPOB members in Nuremberg, Germany on Saturday, August 17.

This online news platform understands that Ekweremadu was attacked during the annual cultural festival of the Ndigbo, apex social-cultural group in the south-east.

Speaking after the ugly incident in a statement issued by Uche Anichukwu, his media aide, Ekweremadu assured Ndigbo and his supporters across the nation that he was safe.

“I attended the Second Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organised by Ndi-Igbo Germany in Nurnberg today where I was billed to give a keynote address along with the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Nnia Nwodo, who, however, could not make it eventually,” he said in the statement.

“I was given a resounding welcome by Ndigbo in Germany and everything went smoothly until some men, who identified themselves as IPOB members stormed the venue and began to complain about the killings in the South East, stressing that there would be no Igbo event at the venue.

“I tried to engage them, but when they became unruly, I had to leave the venue. The organisers also invited the police and I was accompanied out of the venue,” Ekweremadu said.

Reacting to the attack in a statement on Sunday, Deji Adeyanju stated that it was proof that Kanu and his group were being sponsored to compromise the South East.

He said: “For those defending the attack on Ekweremadu, all I can do is laugh. Don’t complain tomorrow when others attack IPOB or Nnamdi Kanu. I have said severally that Kanu collected money from the government to compromise and run away and I maintain this argument.

“He’s a businessman looking for where to collect. He’s not driven by ideology or love for the Igbos. The attack on Ekweremadu justifies the stand of those who have repeatedly said: “you can’t trust the Igbos with power”. And your guess is as good as mine.

“Those sponsoring Kanu from the North are those who want the Igbos perpetually divided and those who don’t want an Igbo man to ever be president of this country which is what many of us have canvassed for over the years.

“At a time when many are saying it’s the time of the Igbos to rule in 2023, you find some clowns saying they don’t believe in Nigeria and attack one of their own sons who honoured their invitation.

“How best can we explain the conspiracy? When we ask them how they will achieve Biafra, all we get are insults. Is it by war or osmosis?

“How will you amend the constitution to give way for secession? These are the question Kanu and his gang of fraudsters can never answer. They are only doing the bidding of their paymasters.”
