The 2019 presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has maintained his claim that President Muhammadu Buhari was not duly elected in the last presidential election in the country. Atiku and his team also insisted that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), transmitted the results of the election to a central server.

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal to dismiss the petition filed against him by Atiku Abubakar and his party, the Peoples Democratic Party. New measures are being introduced by the Zamfara State government to improve Internally Generated Revenue of the state. This was stated by Alhaji Bala Bello, Secretary to the State Government yesterday in Gusau, while receiving officials from the state’s Vehicle Investigation Office, who paid him a courtesy visit.

6. Court Grants ICPC’s Request To Freeze Accounts Belonging To Ex Gov. Yari

A request by the Independent Corrupt Practises and other Related offences Commission seeking to freeze bank accounts owned by the former Governor of Zamfara State, Abubakar Yari, has been granted by a Federal High Court in Abuja. Justice Taiwo Taiwo, while delivering his judgement, in an ex-parte motion by the ICPC, ordered that the accounts in Polaris and Zenith banks with funds in United States dollars and Nigerian naira, be frozen until the affected individual gives a reason why the accounts should not be frozen.

7. British Court Gives P&ID Nod To Seize Nigeria’s $9bn Assets

Process and Industrial Development Limited (P&ID) has been given the nod by a British court to seize Nigerian assets worth $9 billion. Naija News reports that the judgment was delivered in favour of P&ID in London, the United Kingdom on Friday, August 16.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Zamfara State has welcomed into the party three former commissioners, two former local government chairmen, three directors-general and 12,562 party members of the All Progressives Congress. The former commissioners who defected were identified as Idris Keta, Abdulkadir Ahmed and Aliyu Tsafe, while the defecting former local government chairmen were Musa Tsafe and Sani Kantoma.
