1. El-Zakzaky, Wife Head Back To Nigeria

Ibraheem El-Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites and his wife, Zeenah Ibrahim, are on their way back to Nigeria from India.

Naija News understands that the couple will be coming back to the country three days after embarking on a medical trip to the Asian country.

2. Court Grants N20m Bail To Atiku’s Son-In-Law

Abdullahi Babalele son-in-law to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has been granted bail.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos granted the bail on Thursday.

3. FG Changes Name Of Official Twitter Handle

The federal government of Nigeria on Thursday, announced a change in the name of the government’s official twitter handle.

It noted that the handle now has the name @NigeriaGov and no longer @AsoRock.

4. What My Father Told Me In India – El-Zakzaky’s Daughter

Suhaila Zakzaky, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky‘s daughter has stated that her father is suffering from lead and cadmium poisoning.

Recall that the IMN leader had earlier refused treatment from those he described as “unknown doctors” who were available to treat him in India.

5. Buhari’s Directive To CBN Mean, Ill-timed – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on food import as mean and ill-timed.

Naija News recalls that Buhari had directed the CBN to the to stop providing foreign exchange for the importation of food into the country.

6. Atunwa vs AbdulRazaq: Tribunal Sets Date To Rule On Kwara Guber Poll

The Kwara State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has set Friday, September 20, 2019, to deliver judgment in the petition filed by Rasak Atunwa, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, challenging the election of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Naija News understands that the PDP candidate in the 2019 governorship election is challenging AbdulRazaq’s election at the tribunal on the grounds that the governor presented a forged secondary school certificate and was therefore not qualified to run for the governorship – a claim AbdulRazaq insists is unfounded.

7. Next Level: Buhari Sets Targets For Incoming Ministers

Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria’s President, says the incoming Ministers of the Federation, will be given targets to work with.

Naija News reports that President Buhari made this known in a post on the micro-blogging site, Twitter, on Wednesday evening, August 14.

8. Full Transcript Of El-Zakzaky’s Audio Message From India

Ibrahim Musa, the spokesperson of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shiites, says the Shia group has received an audio message from its leader, Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, who is currently in India for medical treatment.

Naija News understands that the audio message revealed the full details of what President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and his agents subjected him and his wife to when they arrived in India.

9. Oyo-Ita Lands In Hospital After EFCC’s Grill For Four Days

Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has landed in the hospital after days of grilling by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Naija News understands that Oyo-Ita is being questioned over the alleged N3billion contract scam and alleged abuse of duty tour allowance, money laundering and stealing of government funds, but was however granted an administrative bail after four days.

10. House of Reps Summon Emefiele, NNPC, DSS Boss

The House of Representatives on Thursday summoned the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele; Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari; and Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Col. Hameed Ali (retd.); and the Director-General, Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi.

Naija News understands that they were all summoned due to their failure to attend an investigative hearing organised by the House on the moribund state of ports in the country, leading to the congestion and perennial gridlock at the Apapa Port, Lagos State.
