Atiku Under Attack Over Comment On National Grid Collapse

Abdullahi Babalele, the son-in-law to a former Nigerian Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, in the 2019 general elections, Atiku Abubakar has been arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Naija News understands that Mr Babalele was arraigned earlier on Wednesday before Justice Nicholas Oweibo at a Federal High Court in Lagos, on a 2 count charge of alleged money laundering of $140,000 in the build-up to the 2019 general elections.

Although he pleaded not guilty to the 2 count charge, Justice Oweibo has however asked him to be remanded in EFCC custody pending the hearing of his bail application, tomorrow, Thursday.

Recall as previously reported by this online medium, the EFCC had also last week, slammed a $2million money laundering suit against Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s lawyer.

The anti-graft agency accused Osagie of laundering the money ahead of the 2019 general elections in Nigeria. He is accused of handling the huge cash without going through any financial institution.

Also included in the charge filed by Rotimi Oyedepo, EFCC’s lawyer is Erhunse Giwa-Osagie brother to Uyiekpen Giwa-Osagie.
