1. FG Gives Reason Why Minimum Wage Has Not Been Implemented

Following the threat to embark on a protest by the Labour Union, the Federal Government has attributed the delay in the implementation of the new minimum wage to the unrealistic demands of labour unions.

Richard Egbule, the Chairman, National Salaries, Income and Wages Commission stated this during an interview with NAN on Monday.

2. Presidency Reveals What Buhari Is Doing About Soldiers/Police Clash

The Presidency has disclosed that contrary to believe in certain quarters, President Muhammadu Buhari is not unconcerned about the recent inter-agency clash between the police and the army.

Recall soldiers of the Nigerian Army killed some operatives of the Nigeria Police in Taraba state who were on a covert mission to arrest a wanted kidnap kingpin, Alhaji Hamisu.

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has warned the federal government to stop ‘foot dragging’ on the payment of the new minimum wage to Nigerian workers.

The Ekiti State Chairman of the TUC, Sola Adigun, who made the latest call, urged the Federal Government not to take the negotiation on the new minimum wage beyond Wednesday, August 14.
