Zakzaky Stops Over In Dubai Enroute India
Leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky who is on a medical trip to India, has made a stopover in Dubai.
This development was confirmed to Channels TV by the spokesperson of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) who noted that El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat, made a stopover at the Dubai International Airport at about 4:00 am early on Tuesday morning.
The Shiite leader and his wife are expected to continue their journey to India today and are expected to arrive in India by 2:30 pm (local time).
Naija News earlier reported that El-Zakzaky, his wife some family members and other security personnel departed the shores of Nigeria on Monday night aboard an Emirate Airline number EK2614.
As earlier reported by Naija News, El-Zakzaky and his wife were previously on Sunday, moved from where they were held in protective custody in Kaduna to Abuja.
Recall Justice Darius Khobo of the Kaduna state High Court had on 5th August, granted the embattled leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky leave to travel out for treatment.
In granting the order, Justice Khobo gave El-Zakzaky and his wife Zeenat leave to travel to India for medical attention. He, however, added that the trip will be under the supervision of the state.
After the court order, the Department of State Services (DSS) in a statement released by its spokesperson, Peter Afunanya disclosed it is already working to ensure their release from detention in compliance with the court order.
