A middle-aged lady was on Friday found dead in a popular hotel identified as Southbound Hotel in Morogbo, Lagos state.
Naija News understands that Jessica was found dead in the hotel at 2:00pm with unestablished evidence that she must have been strangled as bloodstains were found on her remains.
While confirming the report, the state Police spokesman, Bala Elkana said the murder case was under investigation, adding that the police have received information about ‘a dead lodger and homicide detectives visited the scene and evacuated the body.’
Elkna made the confirmation in a statement obtained by Naija News on Sundey, August 11.
The statement reads as thus; “Homicide detectives visited the scene. Corpse of the deceased person was found on the bed facing up, with swollen face and foam-like fluid out of her mouth. Her throat was knotted with clothes suggesting that she might have been strangled. “There were blood stains all over the place. The corpse was evacuated to mortuary for autopsy while the scene was preserved for forensic analysis.
“The Commissioner of Police Zubairu Muazu has ordered the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) Yaba to take over the investigation.”
