Vehicular movements have been restricted in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital for the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

Naija News understands that the restriction of vehicular movement in the capital city of Maiduguri is not unconnected to the attempt to ensure a hitch-free and peaceful celebration of the Eid-el-Kabir.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Borno state Police command, Usman Usmobik announced this in Maiduguri on Friday.

In his announcement, the Police PRO said the restriction of movements was as part of the measures to ward off terrorist attack in the state which include, from Boko Haram, ISWAP.

Usmobik in his statement on the Eid celebration in the state noted that the measure was part of comprehensive security arrangements put in place to maintain law and order as well as protect lives and property before, during and after the festive season.

“There will be restriction of vehicular movement between 7:00 am and 12:15 pm on Aug. 11. The restriction; though regretted, will include use of motor vehicles, tricycles, bicycles and animals except those on essential duties.”
