The coalition of former Presidential candidates and aspirants in the 2019 general elections under the aegis of Third Force Forum has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to release the human right activist Omoyele Sowore.

Sowore was arrested in the early hours of Saturday day over what is believed to be in connection with the nationwide protests.

The AAC Presidential candidate had called for a mass protest tagged: “Revolution Now”, beginning from the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, on Monday.

They noted that the call for the #RevolutionNow protest was constitutional.

The statement said, “We, the Coalition of former 2019 Presidential Aspirants and Candidates, under the aegis of Third Force Forum, hereby demand the unconditional release of one of our compatriot, Mr Omoyele Sowore, who was arrested by an agency of the government on August 2, 2019, pursuant to plans for a protest march across Nigeria; which is within his full constitutional rights.”
