The project will also accelerate the economic and social development of populations and provide an alternative source of gas for Europe, they added.

Mr Kyari also highlighted the strategic importance of this pipeline for Nigeria and Morocco as well as for all West African countries, noting that this project constitutes “not only an outlet for Nigerian gas, but it will also promote the economic development of the countries of the sub-region “.

Following the meeting, which took place in the presence of the Moroccan Ambassador to Nigeria, Moha Ou Ali Tagma, the participating companies expressed their interest in this strategic project and their willingness to continue negotiations with the project team.

Since the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between Nigeria and Morocco, the studies conducted by the selected international firms have demonstrated the technical and economic viability of the pipeline project, which now allows for the involvement of the major international oil companies. gas.
