Man Arrested For Allegedly Raping and Impregnating A 10-Year-Old Girl

An 18-year-old man, Terna Taga, was arrested on Wednesday by the Benue State Police Command for allegedly raping and impregnating a 10-year-old girl.

Taga was alleged to have raped the girl who was at the internally displaced persons, IDPs camp, Benue state.

The girl, however, was delivered of a baby girl through Caesarean section(CS)

Benue Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Catherine Anene informed the News Agency of Nigeria, Makurdi that Taga was apprehended in North Bank.

She said the accused is in custody for investigations.

“The command will decide on the next line of action after full interrogation and investigation into the case,” she said.

The report states that the news of the minor’s pregnancy was made known 4th august, 2019 when she was dumped at a General Hospital, Makurdi by an anonymous person.

An activist, Mr Ukan Kurugh allegedly took the girl to Foundation Memorial Hospital at Makurdi where she delivered a baby girl through Caesarean section (CS)in the early hours of 5th August 2019.
